Guaranteed Ride Home
When you take Metrobus or Metrorail to work, you are eligible to participate in the free Commuter Connection Guaranteed Ride Home Program.
The program will get you home in the event of a personal emergency or unscheduled overtime. To register and to receive program details, call Commuter Connection at 1-800-745-RIDE.

Capital Bikeshare, the area’s largest Bikeshare system provides you with over 3,500 bikes spanning 400+ stations across D.C., Arlington, Alexandria, Montgomery Co., Fairfax and Reston. You can rent bikes for a day or 3 days, a month, or a year. The first 30 minutes of each trip is completely free.
Also, Capital Bikeshare Plus (electric bikes) has officially arrived to the Washington D.C. area. Ebikes are a great way to ride and make traveling long distances, pedaling uphill, and arriving to work almost sweat-free easy. What is Guaranteed Ride Home?

The Guaranteed Ride Home Program (GRH) provides commuters who regularly (2 times per week) take public transportation, bike, walk, or carpool/vanpool to work and live Washington DC metropolitan region with a free guaranteed ride home for emergencies or when you unexpectedly have to work overtime. This service is available up to four times per year.
How to Register?

Register with Commuter Connections GRH Application or call them at 1-800-754-7433. Once they process your application, and you meet the requirements, they’ll mail you a Commuter ID card to use when you need to use the service.For more information about the Guaranteed Ride Home Program, check out Commuter Connections participation guidelines , areas of service, and GRH rewards.
