Financial Giant's HQ in Fairfax County Extends Sky High Rewards
Capital One is one of eleven Fortune 500 companies headquartered in Fairfax County. A new skyscraper currently under construction will provide additional office space for their growing workforce of 9,000 associates in the Tysons market.
Capital One puts high value on its culture of belonging as it recruits professionals with a variety of backgrounds. The Greater Washington area workforce totals 3 million people, including a large number of millennials drawn to Northern Virginia’s quality of life. An extraordinary range of financial and technology expertise are frequently tapped for Fairfax County companies KPMG, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and, of course, Capital One.
“The build-out of the Capital One Center campus creates a unique set of amenities for the Capital One associates working in and traveling to the region.” according to Jonathan Griffith, the managing director of Capital One Center. “Furthermore, we are creating an urban neighborhood in the framework of the Tysons Comprehensive plan that will become a regional destination for all to experience and enjoy”.
An urban-format Wegmans grocery store opened in 2020, and more is planned for 2021. Capital One Hall, a corporate meeting and events center, will open its doors later this year and be a go-to destination for the arts in the region. Interactive art experiences, outdoor performances, and a biergarten are planned for ‘The Perch’, a 1.2-acre skypark on top of Capital One Hall, coming this summer. Rounding out the development will be an on-site lodging facility, The Watermark Hotel, and additional restaurants and retail.
Abundant transportation options make access a breeze. The McLean Metro Station is steps away from the development, with a Fairfax Connector bus station nearby. Washington, D.C., Bethesda, Arlington and Washington Dulles International Airport are a 30-minute drive from Tysons.
