Capital One Center Culinary Week
Capital One Center announces its inaugural Culinary Week which will be held July 14th – July 18th, offering unique culinary-centric experiences at each of the award-winning restaurants. Capital One Center has become a dynamic entertainment center and dining district, and the new Capital One Center Culinary Week will include nine events with a mission to raise awareness and funds for World Central Kitchen.
The culinary experiences offered during Capital One Center’s Culinary Week are great for teambuilding, summer socials, date nights – and even for parents looking for a fun summer activity with their children.
Capital One Center Culinary Week-at-a-Glance:
Mon. July 14th
12:00pm - 2:00pm: Summer Roll Making & Mocktail Reception at Sisters Tysons
Guests will embark on a Thai culinary journey during this interactive class and create beautiful, authentic (and delicious!) summer rolls, and indulge in photo-worthy mocktails from the acclaimed Sisters Tysons team.
5:00pm - 7:00pm: Sushi Making Masterclass with Wren Team
Join Wren’s acclaimed Chef Yo during this masterclass on the art of creating maki and nigiri rolls. Guests will lean into the precise expertise incorporated in each sushi bite…in a fun, interactive environment.
Tues. July 15th
Battle of the Chefs 4:00pm – 7:00pm
One of the premiere events is the Battle of the Chefs. Four chefs from award-winning Capital One Center restaurants will compete for the audience’s vote based on taste, creativity, presentation, and storytelling. This curated experience will take guests on a culinary journey through Italy, Japan, Thailand, and Mexico, with artisanal dishes representing each restaurant. During this outdoor reception, guests will vote on the best restaurant, and meet the four Executive Chefs, and learn his/her story during this lively event.
Wednesday, July 16th
Cocktail Contest 4:00pm-6:30pm
Experience a highlight of the inaugural Capital One Center Culinary Week as five master mixologists compete for the audience’s vote. Representing award-winning restaurants across Capital One Center, these cocktail craftsmen will battle based on creativity, presentation, and storytelling. Journey through global flavors spanning to Italy, Japan, Thailand, Mexico, and the tropics, with artfully crafted libations from each distinctive bar program unfolding across TWO venues within The Watermark Hotel.
Thurs. July 17th
11:30am - 1:30pm: Pizza Making at Stellina Pizzeria – morning option for parents and children
Embark on an Italian culinary journey, and join Lake Como native and Michelin-Bib Chef Matteo Venini for a special parent-child culinary experience and modern take on crafting your own Neo-Neapolitan pizza.
3:00pm - 5:00pm: Amalfi Coast Inspired Cocktail & Mocktail Making Class hosted by Sisters Tysons
Celebrate summer with the enchanting “Amalfi Summer, Thai Surprise” vibe! The Rowing Club at Sisters Tysons extends this Mediterranean magic immersive mixology class led by Sister’s Head Bartender, teaching guests craft signature cocktails and refreshing mocktails. Participants will discover flavor balancing secrets, proper mixing methods, and presentation skills while enjoying the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
4:30pm - 7:00pm: Pizza Making Paired with Italian Cocktails at Stellina Pizzeria – evening option for adults
Join Chef Matteo Venini alongside Stellina Co-Founder Antonio Matarazzo for a modern take on crafting your own Neo-Neapolitan pizza and perfecting the ideal Italian cocktail to pair with your pizza, with a reception to follow.
4:00pm - 7:00pm Reservation Times: Hank Shaw & Gabe Erales Borderlands Cookbook & Tasting Dinner at Ometeo
Don’t miss Ometeo’s one-night-only culinary collaboration as acclaimed author, chef, and James Beard Award-winner Hank Shaw steps into the kitchen with Chefs Kyle Bailey and Gabe Erales to bring his newest cookbook Borderlands to life. This exclusive 5-course tasting menu draws inspiration from Shaw’s newest cookbook—featuring bold, evocative flavors from the Rio Grande to the Pacific.

Proceeds from Capital One Center Culinary Week Benefit World Central Kitchen
Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises. Five restaurants have opened in the past 18 months at Capital One Center, including a new “hidden bar”. Culinary Week participating restaurants and bars represent high-quality local operators, and have received many accolades, including:
- Wren: Meaning “Love” in Japanese, Wren is The Watermark Hotel’s sophisticated yet approachable concept featuring Japanese street food fused with modern American elements. Awarded Virginia’s “Restaurant of the Year” by the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association in 2022.
- Ometeo: Rooted in Tex-Mex tradition and heightened by a passion for local seafood, Ometeo leans into the dichotomy of the Texas border cuisine and strong coastal influences. Awarded the Restaurant Association of Washington’s Restaurateur of the Year (awarded to Ometeo’s management team, Long Shot Hospitality).
- Stellina Pizzeria: Stellina Pizzeria is an upscale casual Italian concept featuring Neo-Neapolitan pizzas, homemade pastas, and desserts with style and dynamic energy. Awarded the Top 50 Artisan Pizzerias in the World (2024), and recognized with a Bib Gourmand the Michelin Guide for five consecutive years.
- Sisters Tysons & Flore Cafe: Opened in November 2024, Sisters Tysons & Flore Cafe have become a quick favorite among the foodie influencer community, known for its elevated approach to Thai street foods, high tea experience, dessert and cafe concept, and visual aesthetics in full bloom.
- Starr Hill Brewpub: The second addition from Starr Hill at Capital One Center, Starr Hill Brewpub complements popular live-music destination Starr Hill Biergarten at The Perch. The America-themed menu offers 20+ beers, cocktails, ciders and wines, and award-winning brews, with programming ranging from live music to trivia.
- Perch Putt’s Rhum Roost: Rhum Roost is a playful tiki bar at Perch Putt (18-hole mini golf experience 11 stories in the sky at The Perch) and features frozen libations and unique cocktails.
- Naisho Room: A new “hidden bar” at The Watermark Hotel with a secret location…if you know, you know…
